Stronger Cross-Border Cooperation

RECOGNIZED GLOBALLY AS a high-impact partner, the Philippines shared achievements in the area of trade facilitation and customs excellence.

Executives of the country’s Bureau of Customs (BOC) made the presentation in the 2025 Accelerate Trade Facilitation Programme’s National Focal Points Meeting, held recently at the World Customs Organization (WCO) Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.

Organized by the WCO Accelerate Trade Facilitation Programme under the Capacity Building Directorate and funded by His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs of the United Kingdom, the meeting emphasized strengthening cross-border cooperation and ensuring the sustainable implementation of trade facilitation reforms aligned with the World Trade Organization – Trade Facilitation Agreement (WTO-TFA).

‘Under the new leadership of Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno, the BOC remains committed to championing trade facilitation and customs excellence in support of President Marcos’ development agenda.’

The Philippines’ representatives delivered comprehensive presentations on its achievements in Risk Management, the Authorized Economic Operator Program, Air Cargo Streamlining, Time Release Study, and other key institutional reforms.

The BOC, represented by Director Eduardo Rey G. Joson, Lady Fatima H. Dela Cruz, Kristin May L. Vista, Oliver A. Valiente, and Dainika Ann C. Florentino, joined 13 partner-countries to assess progress, address challenges, and strengthen trade facilitation strategies.

Under the new leadership of Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno, the BOC remains committed to championing trade facilitation Dand customs excellence in support of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s development agenda.
