2 of 11 Taguig Infra Validated as Ghost?

A WEEK after word war broke out, Majority Senator Panfilo Lacson has buckled down to work, digging deeper into what he earlier referred to as spurious infrastructure projects in Senator Alan Peter Cayetano’s own bailiwick.

According to Lacson, his team had identified two suspected “ghost” infrastructure projects in Taguig City — on top of other projects totaling P2.085 billion in insertions from the General Appropriations Act (GAA) of 2025.

“We have documented at least two case studies so far. Too many P100M slope protection and drainage projects totaling P2.085B out of the P6.79B insertions under the 2025 GAA,” Lacson’s social media post reads.

He however did not say how much is involved in the two suspected ghost projects.

Lacson previously accused Cayetano of imposing a 25 percent “kickback” in 68 of 70 Taguig infrastructure projects which he helped secure funds through budget insertions.

The remaining two, the senator added, “remained unreleased or unobligated.”

Cayetano had already denied Lacson’s earlier claims, saying there are “no ghost projects in Taguig,” adding that Lacson should not focus on Taguig alone and that Lacson “ needs to show that he’s not just annoyed with one person.”
